A new organic inorganic decavanadate, [NH4]2[2A4MPy]6[H2V10O28]2·H2O (2A4MPyV10), crystal was synthesized by slow evaporation and characterized. It was by means of single crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy and thermal analysis. Its crystal structure revealed that it crystallizes in the orthorhombic system with non-centrosymmetric space group Fdd2 with a = 17.6311(5) Å, b = 22.6421(9) Å, c = 38.8032(9) Å, V = 15490.4(8) Å3. The X-ray structure determination revealed the presence of deprotonated decavanadate cage-like clusters [H2V10O28]4- (V10) bridged via strong Odecavanadate—H…Odecavanadate hydrogen bonds to generate ribbons extending along the a-axis. Whereas the lattice water molecule and the organic moieties are associated to the polymeric species by multiple hydrogen bonds (N—H…O, N—H…N, O—H…O) and reside between the inorganic ribbons giving rise to 3D supramolecular network.
